Trane 5TTR4030A1000B 14 SEER2 Single Speed Air Conditioner

Each unit here is the outdoor half of a split system for a home with ductwork. It reaches its rated efficiency only with a matched evaporator coil or air handler inside.

Lennox Air Conditioners

Lennox models here use R-454B refrigerant and run from 14.7 to 23 SEER2. The Merit series covers the single-stage ML13KC1 and ML14KC1 and the two-stage ML17KC2. The Elite series adds the single-stage EL15KC1 and EL16KC1 and the variable-capacity EL18KCV and EL22KCV, which reaches 23 SEER2. See every model on the Lennox air conditioners page.

Trane Air Conditioners

Trane models here run from 13 to 18 SEER2. The single-speed units, at 13, 14, and 15 SEER2, cover 1.5 to 5 tons. The variable-speed units, at 17 and 18 SEER2, cover 2 to 5 tons. Shop them on the Trane air conditioners page, and call us to confirm the refrigerant and indoor match for any Trane model.

Sizing and SEER2

One ton equals 12,000 BTU. The right size for your home comes from a Manual J load calculation that accounts for insulation, windows, ducts, and climate, so square footage alone can't set it. An oversized unit short-cycles and leaves the house clammy, and an undersized one runs nonstop on the hottest days.

Higher SEER2 usually costs more up front, and the payback depends on your climate, runtime, and utility rates. Federal minimum efficiency for a new install depends on your region, so make sure the model you pick meets the standard where you live. The rating on each product page assumes a matched indoor section.

Match the Indoor Side

Pair the outdoor unit with a matched evaporator coil on a gas furnace, or with an air handler. We confirm the AHRI-certified match with you before you order. If you want heating from the same outdoor unit, compare heat pumps.

What the Job Needs

  • Outdoor air conditioner from this collection
  • Matched evaporator coil or air handler (and a furnace, if gas is your heat)
  • Line set, outdoor disconnect, and electrical whip, with the breaker sized to the nameplate
  • Licensed refrigerant recovery, charge, and startup

A licensed contractor handles the installation.

FAQ

Should I choose Lennox or Trane? Choose on the efficiency, staging, and price that fit your home, and on which brand your contractor is certified to install and register. That certification is what keeps your full warranty in place.

Do I need a new indoor coil? The SEER2 rating assumes a matched coil or air handler. An old coil can lower efficiency or may not suit the new unit's refrigerant, so we check your existing equipment with you on the call.

How do I buy through HVAC USA? Call (913) 364-0070 or email info@hvacusa.store, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm CST. We help you confirm the size and indoor match, send a draft order, and you pay online.
