How to read a Lennox air handler model number
Take CBK45UHVT-036-230-71. CB means air handler, K means R-454B, and 45 is the Quantum coil series. UH means upflow or horizontal. The next letter is the blower: V is variable speed, E is constant torque and P is multi-speed PSC. T is the factory check/expansion valve, 036 is 3 tons, 230 is 208/230V single phase, and 71 means an R-454B valve is installed.
Cabinet widths and horizontal installs
CBK45 and CBA25UH air handlers are 18.5 inches wide up to 2.5 tons and 21.5 inches wide from 3 tons up. CBK47UHET and CBK48MVT cabinets are 21.25 inches wide. CBK45, CBK47 and CBA25UH models ship ready for upflow or horizontal installs, so one air handler can go in a closet or an attic. Measure your closet or platform, and check the product page for the full dimensions.
Pair your air handler with a heat pump or air conditioner
An air handler is the indoor half of the system. Pair it with a Lennox heat pump for heating and cooling, or a Lennox air conditioner for cooling. Your SEER2 and HSPF2 ratings belong to the matched combination, so check it in the AHRI Directory or send us both model numbers.
