Merit, Elite and Signature air conditioners

Lennox Merit air conditioners cover the single-stage ML13KC1 and ML14KC1 and the two-stage ML17KC2. Lennox Elite air conditioners add the single-stage EL15KC1 and EL16KC1 and the variable-capacity EL18KCV and EL22KCV. The Lennox Signature SL25KCV is variable capacity and carries the top rating here, 26 SEER2 at 2 tons.

14 SEER2, 15 SEER2, 16 SEER2, 17 SEER2, 18 SEER2. A higher SEER2 number means the matched system uses less electricity for the same cooling.

Pick your size

One ton equals 12,000 BTU of cooling. Your current unit's model number usually shows its size (a 036 in the model is 3 tons), and that is a good place to start. Square footage alone is not enough. Text us the model number from your old outdoor unit and we will help you confirm the size before you order.

Match the indoor side

SEER2 is a system rating, so it applies to the outdoor unit with a matched indoor coil. Pair your air conditioner with a Lennox evaporator coil on a Lennox gas furnace, or with a Lennox air handler. One ton equals 12,000 BTU, and Lennox air conditioners here run from 1.5 to 5 tons. The size code in your current model number (024 is 2 tons, 036 is 3 tons) is a good starting point. Text us that model number and we will help you confirm the size.

Merit is the value line, with single-stage and two-stage models. Elite adds single-stage models and the variable-capacity EL18KCV and EL22KCV. Signature is the SL25KCV, the highest rated model here at up to 26 SEER2.

These air conditioners use R-454B, and you should never mix R-454B equipment with R-410A components. The SEER2 rating also applies only to a matched outdoor unit and coil, so plan on a matched Lennox coil or air handler.
