- Refrigerant: R-454B, factory charged with 6 lb 7 oz for a 15-foot line set
- Line connections: 3/8-inch liquid and 7/8-inch suction, sweat
- Sound rating: 66 to 76 dBA
Reading the model number
EL is Lennox's Elite line, and 18 is the nominal SEER2 class for the EL18KCV series. K is R-454B, C is an air conditioner, V is the variable-capacity compressor, 036 is 3 tons, and 230 is 208/230V single-phase. The characters after 230 on the unit label are Lennox revision codes. The AHRI Directory lists it as EL18KCV-036-230A** and EL18KCV-036-230B**.
What it pairs with
The AHRI Directory lists this unit with Lennox CK40CT, CK40DT, and CK40HT coils on Lennox gas furnaces, and with CBK45UHET, CBK45UHPT, CBK45UHVT, and CBK47UHET air handlers. The best listed match with equipment we carry, a CK40HT-42B-71 coil with an EL280UH045E36A furnace, reaches 19.5 SEER2.
R-454B systems need a refrigerant detection sensor at the indoor unit. Lennox installs it at the factory or in the field, so confirm your coil or air handler has one.
Sizing and fit
Size it from a Manual J load calculation, and treat your old unit's tonnage as a starting point only. If you're keeping your indoor coil, check that it appears in an AHRI listing with this unit before you order.
Lennox rates it to keep cooling down to 0°F outdoor air.
Warranty and registration
HVAC USA is an authorized Lennox reseller, and everything we sell is new factory equipment. Your full Lennox warranty applies when a licensed, manufacturer-certified contractor installs your system and registers it within 60 days.
