Choosing a single-stage furnace
A single-stage furnace runs at full heat whenever it's on. That keeps the controls simple and makes it a common choice for a straight replacement. The ML180 and EL180 are 80% AFUE and typically vent through a metal flue. The ML193, ML196, EL195, and EL196 are condensing models that vent through PVC and need a condensate drain.
